Have questions? We got answers!

I ordered seedlings. When will they arrive?

Seedling orders placed by Sunday night will ship the following week and are typically delivered 2-3 days later.

My seedlings arrived. What are the plant care instructions?

  1. Open your seedlings up as soon as they arrive.
  2. We recommend getting them into your garden as soon as you can. In the meantime, you can stand your seedlings upright in the tray and put ~ 1/4" of water in the bottom of the tray so that they don't get thirsty. Set them in a bright place.

Soil Gardens

3a. When you are ready to plant them in your garden, water your soil so it is moist. Transplant each seedling approximately 1' between each other. If the weather is warm, water your seedlings almost every day for the first 2 weeks so they will have the best chance of establishing their roots.

Hydroponic Gardens

3b. Your seedlings are ready to be inserted into your hydroponic garden! Make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for how to assemble and operate your hydroponic garden.

My shipment was delayed and my seedlings are damaged or dead. Help!

Seedlings are a living product and, as such, we are unable to accept returns and have a no-returns policy. We do, however, always want to make sure our customers are satisfied, so please contact us within three (3) days of receipt of your unsatisfactory seedlings. Photos are required for our horticulture experts to properly assess plant health. Seedlings should be opened from their shipping box and planted as soon as possible upon receipt. We will gladly provide credit, a refund or ship replacement seedlings for any affected seedlings that don’t recover after 1 week of receipt.

Our full Return Policy can be found here https://cercacultivation.com/refund_returns/

What size are your seedlings?

Our seedlings are between 2” - 4” in size.

Are your seedlings organic?

We use organic seed and cultivation practices.

Are your seedlings Non-GMO?

Yes, all of our seeds are non-GMO! Genetically modified seeds for home gardens are not available in the United States. So any of the seeds you buy from a seed company, garden center, and big box stores will be non-GMO.

GMO seeds are only available to commercial farmers who purchase them from specific seed dealers and the farmers often need to sign a contract and receive information on how to use the technology. GMO crops are grown in the United States but they're mainly used for production, such as: field corn, soy, canola, sugar beets, and cotton.

Products that contain GMOs include corn chips, processed foods, and high fructose corn syrup.

What is your growing medium made out of?

The medium we use for our seedling plugs is made of coco coir, peat and an organic foam binder. This allows for our seedlings to be planted in your soil or hydroponic garden!

There are pests on my plants in my garden. What treatment options would you recommend?

Aphids and other pests may appear on your plants. The greens are still safe to eat but there are a few methods you can try to help get rid of pests…

  • throw away the infected plant
  • spray water on the plant which may help wash away pests
  • remove the plant and wash the pests away with water and then put the plant back into the tower
  • spray the leaves with a combo of warm water and a couple drops of dish soap...this is an organic and not a harsh method vs some of the other types of pesticides
  • spray it with pesticide (not our preferred method but there are organic solutions such as Azera and Monterey B.t.)

The longer a plant is in your soil or hydroponic garden the greater the chance that nature (e.g., bugs) might move in. The surest way to get rid of pests is to just remove the infected plant...you can just throw it out or give it a good rinse of water if you want to keep the leaves to eat.

When will out of stock seedlings be added back to your website?

Every week we update our seedling inventory with seedlings that are back in stock.

When do you have new seedlings added to your website?

We grow seasonally appropriate varieties for the current season. Every few months we update our website with seedlings for the current season.

I live in a really, really hot climate. Can I grow seedlings in hot weather? What would you recommend?

We ship seedlings to hot climates all the time! Most of our plants on our website will do fine in hot temperatures. But if it is very hot we recommend that you plant in a partially shaded area or that you install a covering for your plants to help reduce the sun's strong rays. This will help the plants that are more sensitive to strong sun to continue to produce well.
